Summer’s Coffee

By Chad Carns

Summer’s menu was inspired by both New York classics and light healthy California bites.

They source the freshest fruits and veggies, utilizing as many local ingredients as possible. The juices are cold pressed and bottled in house.

Like all Devoción coffees, Summers’ exclusive Las Hermosas blend is flown overnight from Colombia to our Brooklyn roastery within 10-30 days of processing and dry milling. The unique thing about Las Hermosas is that it comes from an 1800-meter high farm in Cañon de las Hermosas in Tolima, Colombia that is run by ex-guerrilla fighters who have given up a life of illicit farming in exchange for coffee cultivation and reforestation. The coffee is a blend of Yellow Bourbon and Typica varietals and has distinct notes of blueberry, cherry, cocoa butter and caramel, which are highlighted by using the toddy cold brew method because this non-aggressive, no-heat extraction process drastically reduces bitterness in the final cup.
