Serrano Almond Fig

By Chad Carns

A party snack inspired by a Spanish Tapas bar in Greenwich Village.

Fig Almond Serrano might be the easiest recipe on The Gourmet Bachelor. Three ingredients and you can make a room filled with friends happy. The flavors are so simple but combined and they are so complex. I love to pair these tasty snacks with a light Rioja or dry Albarino. It’s a date!

8oz serrano ham
40 almonds
40  fig

Turn broiler on high. Cut Serrano ham into 3-inch pieces. Place almond inside of fig then wrap ham around the date. Place toothpick through fig. Repeat 40 times. Place the figs on a cookie sheet. Broil for 3 minutes.
