Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels

You may forget the name but you won’t forget the wine.

Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels is a posh wine bar located on a quiet street just outside of SoHo. It’s great for groups, singles or to sneak in a quick glass of happy hour bubbly with your date before a 6:45 dinner reservation.

Find a spot at the spacious bar or slide into one of the many comfy nooks. You might think you’re sitting in a trendy furniture catalog in this well-designed open layout.

The name “Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels” implies (to me at least) that these wines are made in a natural way, or “beyond” natural. The natural wine movement is a thing of the past and I think Compagnie is respectfully making a tongue-in-cheek reference to this very specific definition of making wine.

Instead of fitting all of their wines into a category, I think Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels stocks up on a very interesting selection of natural, sustainable, biodynamic or just delicious wines that meet an excellent value at every price point.
