22, A Million by Bon Iver

By Bdog

“22, A Million” is Bon Iver’s third album and its first in five years; showing a band who refuses to rest on its laurels; changing its sound almost drastically with every album release. “22, A Million” is the group’s weirdest album yet.  The band’s sound is now driven by warped electronic glitch beats, which disorient the listener much like Radiohead’s “Kid A” did nearly two decades ago. Opening cut “22 (Over Soon)” is the easiest to grab onto and is one of the most beautiful and best songs of last year.  Perhaps like “Kid A” before it, “22, A Million” will prove to be a grower and will help push music forward while achieving legendary status in the long run.
